This 2,800 square foot contemporary home overlooks Seward Park and Lake Washington in Seattle. This complete renovation and addition began with the demolition of the existing residence, except for one framed wall.
With this design, architect Graham Day was able to maximize the views of Lake Washington and create a space ideal for family life and entertaining. Per the architect’s design, Ikka installed lake facing floor to ceiling windows, and constructed a third story tower, basement extension, and cantilevered steel decks.
Renovation on this home utilized high quality wood finishes such as Western red cedar, Ipe decking, white oak flooring, solid core fir doors and trim-work. The living room opens to a large cantilevered steel deck which created the perfect space to enjoy the magnificent lake views. The master suite features a balcony, walk-in closet, a bath with custom cabinets and tile work. Other design features included locally built custom kitchen cabinets and countertops.
With an inviting open floor plan, the finished home provided expansive views and exceptional craftsmanship that met the client’s expectations.
